Medical Miracles

Medical Miracles, everyday stuff to us now but they are still miracles.

I stubbed my toe, no big deal... then a week later it was a big deal, it was infected.

My medical is tied to the Army medical center in Washington, I go there or I go to a local ER.

I was going back to this part of Washington anyway to watch my grandson while his mom has another baby (I like these grandpa duties!) so coming early to fix my toe was not that big a deal.

So I drove back to Washington and went the ER at the base hospital (it was Sunday), they gave me antibiotics and I left.
Three nights later I didn't wake my self up during the night by bumping my toe.
A Miracle!

I'd say 50 years ago but no, penicillin saved me 55 years ago, so 100 years ago my infection would have been a different story.

  1. It's funny how much the small things, like not being woken up by a sore toe, matter. Really makes you appreciate being well. It's something we take for granted & should be thankful for. I enjoy your writing. I would love to be able to travel the way you do, but as a single mother with a child in school it isn't likely. Enjoy lovin on those grandbabies & safe travels :)

    1. Thank you for visiting!
Good health is really one of things that I take for granted, never a second thought until something goes wrong then I REALLY know what I lost. That lasts until things get back to normal...
With a kid in school any lifestyle past the normal one becomes really difficult but life is long enough that one can choose a different direction every 20 or 30 years.
Again thanks for the visit, the remarks & the good wishes!

  2. I absolutely believe in miracles, and although many individuals also believe in miracles, there are quite a few doubters out there. ucdm
